DefaultParking eye – first letter – have receipts – pls can someone confirm something

Just received the first letter from parking eye regarding an overstay (21 minutes) in a retail car park.

Although I am the registered keeper, and the letter is addressed to me, I wasn’t the driver on the day.

The driver has receipts from the store, also receipts from the cafe (the cafe also had a problem on the day where the till wasn’t working and the items purchased had to be hand written and totalled on a calculator – thus adding to the time).

I’ve read through the forum & think I know what i’m doing but just wanted to double check.

Rather than going through the ‘I wasn’t the driver’ route or going back to the store with receipts & getting them to deal with it can I just write a letter to parking eye, along with a copy of the receipts, asking them to cancel the charge?

If so, is there a draft template/letter I could modify to my own circumstances?

Thanks in advance.

You can appeal this as the registered keeper if you want, don’t mention who was driving at all, photocopy the receipts and tell them to cancel it. We do recommend complaints to retailers, if nobody complains then the status quo continues

When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

We don’t need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Just got off the phone with the deputy manager of the store (having been passed around first) – they have said i should send a letter of appeal but also bring the receipts in to them and they will send an email to parking eye.

I dont want the hassle of taking the receipts into the store because it’s not a local store and i’ve got better things to do.

So should the letter simply state that i am appealing because i’m the registered keeper (do I not say that it wasn’t me driving?), here are copies of the receipts (should I go into the ’tills broken saga?), please confirm you will cancel the charge.

Is that it ?

Thanks again.
